BioSensory Back in Production

BioSensory recently announced the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has approved the repair and replacement of BioSensory’s Dragonfly II mosquito trap and NightWatch Bed Bug Monitor products.

PUTNAM, Conn. – BioSensory Inc., manufacturer of environmentally-sensitive pest management products to monitor bed bugs and control mosquitoes and biting insects, recently announced the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has approved the repair and replacement of BioSensory’s Dragonfly II® mosquito trap and NightWatch™ Bed Bug Monitor products which were recalled due to a defective pressure sensor manufactured by MAMCO of Oneonta, N.Y.

Both Dragonfly II and NightWatch products are molded and assembled at Panint Electronic Limited in China, an ISO-9000 compliant manufacturer with more than 30 years of experience specializing in consumer appliances and electronic products, according to the company. Key components such as the CO2 valve, sensor and electronic control system are supplied by United States manufacturers.

All of the NightWatch units manufactured during this recall timeframe are being repaired free of charge at MAMCO. NightWatch (Model 506) units, which were sold by Forshaw Distribution (Charlotte, N.C.) and Residex, LLC (Cranford, N.J.), should be taken out of service immediately and returned to the distribution center for replacement. Consumers are advised to stop using the Dragonfly II (Model 503) traps, which were sold exclusively through the Frontgate Catalog, and to contact Frontgate to receive a replacement unit.

BioSensory anticipates all recall work for NightWatch to be completed by MAMCO on or before July 17, 2009; and all recall work for Dragonfly II to be completed by Panint on or before July 24, 2009.

"We sincerely thank Panint, MAMCO, Frontgate, Forshaw, Residex and the Consumer Product Safety Commission for their help during this situation, as it was the first recall we have experienced in BioSensory’s 12 year history," concludes Jim Nolen, president of BioSensory, Inc. "Safety is our utmost concern. We apologize for any inconvenience this voluntary recall may have caused. The positive outcome is a stronger, defect-free NightWatch and Dragonfly II product."
