LAS VEGAS — During a live broadcast segment at the National Pest Management Association’s PestWorld 2021, Bird Barrier of America President Cameron Riddell announced that construction is underway for a new training center at the company’s headquarters in Carson, Calif.
The new center will expand to four times the size and space of its current studio and eight times the volume, said the company, with doors scheduled to open in January 2022. Bird Barrier plans to provide expanded in-person classes, virtual online classes and advanced hands-on training. Classes will be available in Spanish, French and other languages to accommodate a growing global bird control market.
The interactive training center came about as a response to increasing demand from pest control professionals wanting to learn and become certified in bird control.
Riddell said, “Since the pandemic, online training has exploded. PMPs literally from across the globe have been signing up for our virtual training classes and then asking for more.”
Bird Barrier America offers individual module classes in specific subjects along with certification courses. In addition to basic training courses for PMPs entering bird control, the company offers courses that help bird professionals build, grow and expand their pest bird business.
“Last year, we saw the need to grow our training, as not only individuals were participating in our classes, but larger groups were booking private company training sessions to help equip their team members for a better knowledge of providing successful pest bird management,” said Riddell.
