CARSON, Calif. - A new product, Bird-Off Gel, made from geranium oil has just been introduced by Bird Barrier America.
Bird-Off Gel does not contain polybutene, so it is less sticky, won’t entrap small birds, and easy to clean up. Yet it stays in place and deters birds. “We’ve always shied away from the gel market because they make such a mess,” said Cameron Riddell, Bird Barrier’s president, “but this is truly different. You can wipe it off your hands and tools with a rag; soap and water clean heavier applications.”
Bird-Off Gel has been marketed in Japan for several years and is just now being introduced in the U.S.
Bird-Off Gel deters the birds with a combination of feel, taste and smell. They don’t like the tacky sensation of the surface, and special additives in the gel deliver a smell and taste sensation that they want to avoid.
Features and Benefits
• Made from all-natural, food-grade materials and does not require an EPA approval. Its active ingredient is geranium oil.
• It can be wiped off your hands, surfaces and tools with a rag, and that soap and water are all you need for a serious clean-up.
• It will not entrap birds, or cause them to suffocate if they try to clean it off their feathers.
• It does not need to be protected with an aerosol clear-coat, saving you time and money.
• It works.
Like all gels, it has a lifespan to consider. Applicators should plan to re-apply every six to 12 months.
