The team of 20 Froggers walked for the cause at the annual Making Strides Walk on Sept. 27, 2008, held at Symphony Park at the SouthPark Mall in Charlotte. In preparation for the walk, Black Pest Prevention raised money and awareness by sending fliers and donation letters to their customer base and by hosting their own yard sales.
“This summer, we visited Saturday yard sales to encourage the hosts to donate items to the Black Pest Froggers that would raise money for the Making Strides Walk,” said Kristie Andrews of Black Pest Prevention. “After holding only two of our own yard sales, we raised $1,000 for the pink ribbon cause.”
Black Pest Prevention believes in being a contributing member of the community and raising money for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer has become an important role of the company. Black Pest Prevention proudly displays the pink ribbon symbol on company vehicles, literature, on their web site and even in advertisements.
“We are always so impressed with not only our Black Pest Prevention employees, but also with our loyal customers who continue to donate to the worthy cause,” said Mike Davis, Chief Operating Officer of Black Pest Prevention. “We received such wonderful support from team members and clients who visited our Froggers website and helped us reach and even exceed our goal of $10,000.”
