After accepting the position, Binns stated that his two main objectives are 1) to expand the influence of professionalism at all stages in the pest business and 2) to work to unite the industry to enable it to speak with ‘one voice.’
Martina Flynn from Widnes-based Sorex International was elected as deputy president with Iain Urquhart of Advanced Pest Management elected as honorary treasurer.
At the event, BPCA was announced the creation of two new Life Members. This honor is only bestowed on individuals who have, over many years, voluntarily worked on behalf of the Association. Much to their surprise, the two recipients were Rob Fryatt of Xenex Associates and Kevin Higgins of the Baron Consultancy.
Also announced was the Keith Cleverly Award, presented to the individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the pest control industry over many years. The award, sponsored by Syngenta and presented by Syngenta’s Murray Hern, was presented to Clive Boase of the Pest Management Consultancy.
