Company Sponsors and Participates in Run 4 Life Race

Sanford, Fla.-based Bug Brigade participated in the race, which raises suicide prevention awareness. Owner Scott Milliron said the company got involved with this organization after an employee had a brother-in-law commit suicide.

DELTONA, Fla. — A team from Bug Brigade Pest Control, Sanford, Fla., recently competed in Run 4 Life, a four-mile walk/run race for suicide prevention and awareness, in Deltona, Fla.

Owner Scott Milliron said the company is carrying on a tradition it started three years ago as a way to support a technician who had a brother-in-law commit suicide when he first started at Bug Brigade.

Ever since then, Milliron has paid for the technician and his family to participate in the Run 4 Life, a four-mile walk/run race for suicide prevention and awareness, in Deltona, Fla.

In May, Bug Brigade took this support a step further and sponsored the event. The company also participated in the Run 4 Life race and came in second place with a team of 14 people. The race went on its sixth year and had a total of 400 people.

“We always paid for him and his family to participate, but this was the first time we were sponsors,” Milliron said. “We tabled up and really got involved in it.”

Millron said it was a way to be supportive within the company as well as raise money to help fund suicide awareness prevention programs throughout central Florida.
