Bug Queen Achieves Green Shield Certification

The Queens, N.Y.-based company received the certification for its green services from the IPM Institute of North America.

QUEENS, N.Y. — Bug Queen has achieved Green Shield Certified status for its low-risk pest management. The IPM Institute of North America evaluated Bug Queen in March for its sustainable pest control practices according to Green Shield Certified standards.

Bug Queen is the 25th pest management provider serving New York to achieve Green Shield Certification.

Nadine Dindial founded Bug Queen in 2012 and implemented an integrated pest management program in 2013. Her goal was to help eliminate pesticides and become a more environmentally friendly company. Bug Queen strives to spread awareness of the effectiveness of IPM and increase adoption of IPM practices.

“By going green, I would like to achieve healthy and safe practices to avoid pest infestation without using harsh chemicals that are unsafe to the environment,” said Dindial.

Bug Queen addresses the underlying causes of pest problems with thorough inspection and customer communication and limits pesticide applications to a short list of low-risk products only when needed.
