SACRAMENTO - SB 1206, authored by Senator Ron Calderon (D- Montebello), was signed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on June 30, 2008. This law allows California pest control operators to advertise that fumigation services are available and recommend a fumigator when infestation occurs. Prior to signing SB 1206 it was illegal for pest control operators to recommend specific fumigation companies.
“We applaud the Governor for signing SB1206 as it helps pest control operators offer more complete services to customers by educating them about fumigation options,” said Martyn Hopper, Pest Control Operators of California Executive Vice President & Chief Executive Officer.
The new law takes effect January 1, 2009.
