Schaumburg, IL, Nov. 25, 2008—Central Life Sciences, whose founders invented insect growth regulator (IGR) technology more than 30 years ago, has selected Mel Whitson as the 2008 recipient of the “Salesperson of the Year” Award for the Zoecon Professional Products Division.

Whitson is the Regional Manager for Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean and is responsible for Central Life Sciences’ vector, professional pest management, and wastewater markets. He has been with the company for six years and has earned an exemplary reputation for sales achievement and strong customer relationships.

This year marks the second time Whitson has received Central Life Sciences’ “Salesperson of the Year” award, and his nomination stems from a lengthy list of accomplishments.

“Mel exemplifies everything a front-line professional should be,” said Larry Smith, Director of Sales for Central Life Sciences. “He significantly increased his region’s sales in 2008 and assumed the additional responsibility of one of our specialty market businesses at a critical time when our exclusive partner in this business was going through a corporate ownership change.”

Smith continued, “Mel also played a key role in developing and implementing key sales strategies for the PCO market, and worked with Zoecon Professional Products Division management in the development, field testing, and marketing of new products for the vector control market.”

“His commitment and professionalism, internally and with customers, are outstanding, and we are pleased to present him with this award,” he finished.
