Cheminova Announces Partnership with ADAPCO

DURHAM, N.C. — Cheminova, the leading manufacturer of Malathion, one of the largest selling insecticides worldwide, announced a partnership with ADAPCO, Inc., the world’s largest distributor of mosquito control products.

ADAPCO is now the exclusive U.S. distributor of Fyfanon®, the company’s main Malathion brand. “Product stewardship is paramount to both Cheminova and ADAPCO, and this partnership will ensure the viability of this very important chemistry in the fight against vector-borne diseases,” said Brad Chalk, Cheminova Business Manager. “This marks the beginning of a long-term relationship where ADAPCO will work with Cheminova to bring forward new formulations, technology, products and active ingredients to further enhance mosquito control.”

Cheminova is the only manufacturer that supplies Malathion in bulk to mosquito abatement districts. Prior to the partnership with ADAPCO, Cheminova supplied Fyfanon directly to the districts using a contracted firm. The number of districts handling bulk materials has diminished to fewer than ten over the past two years. “This is an opportunity to safeguard an important chemistry for all abatement districts,” said Tom Wells, Vice President of Sales at ADAPCO.

“Our sales team will be working closely with existing and new customers to ensure they are able to transition the use of Fyfanon seamlessly into their current mosquito control operations.” Chalk added, “This new partnership will help ensure the continued supply of Fyfanon to our joint customers in a reliable manner, handled by the most skilled and experienced professionals in the mosquito control industry.”
