WASHINGTON – Chris Haggerty, part-owner of American Pest Control, Hanna, Ill., was presented with the FMC Legislative Day Award on Wednesday in Washington, D.C. (Related: Watch a video interview with Haggerty).
Haggerty was recognized for his efforts to advocate for the pest control industry statewide and nationally.
FMC’s Dan Carrothers presented the award to Haggerty, noting that he is a third-generation professional whose “family has a long tradition of giving back to the industry.”
In addition to serving as Illinois’ State Policy Affairs Representative (SPAR), Haggerty spends significant time in Springfield, Illinois' capital, protecting the pest control industry from damaging legislation year after year.
He also serves on the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) Board of Directors, as president of the Illinois Pest Control Association and on the Illinois Structural Pest Control Advisory Council
The FMC Legislative Day Award is presented annually to individuals who have distinguished themselves in the pest management industry through various activities — particularly legislative involvement — and through their contributions to advancing the industry.
