Keenan was presented with the award during the association’s recent annual meeting in Waltham, Mass. Keenan, who resides with his wife Cathie in Westwood, Mass, has been an active member of NEPMA throughout his involvement in the region’s pest management industry. He served as president of the association in the early 80s.
Keenan has been involved in the pest management industry for more than 32 years. He started out working summers during college for his father Richard Keenan, who purchased the company (then known as Waltham Chemical Co.) in 1963.
In terms of national service, he has served on the executive board of the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) and held positions as a member of the board of directors for many years.
Keenan’s dedication to the industry is exemplified by his encouragement of his co-workers and employees to take an active volunteer role in their regional pest industry associations, including NEPMA and others. His firm currently has nine offices with more than 200 employees.
Keenan continues his service to the pest management industry as a director on the board of Copesan National Service. In the recent past, he was recognized by the pest management industry when he received the PCT/Syngenta Leadership Award. In his spare time, Keenan enjoys running, skiing and gardening. He is also active with the Dedham Choral Society.
Named in honor of the organization’s founder and first president, the Bartlett W. Eldredge award is intended to honor a pest management professional who has distinguished himself and demonstrated service to the association, the pest management industry, local community service, and who has earned overall respect and recognition by industry peers.
