APOPKA, Fla. — Heron Lawn and Pest Control announces that industry veteran Greg Clendenin has joined the company’s executive staff as CEO.
Clendenin has been involved in the pest control and lawn industries for 35 years, including stints at Sears Authorized Termite and Pest Control, Middleton Lawn & Pest Control and Orkin. His signature achievement was helping lead Middleton’s organic growth from $8 Million to $35 Million in nine years. Clendenin also has been involved in associations at the state and national levels, serving as assistant director for region 4 of the Florida Pest Control Association, as a past chairman of the National Lawn Care Committee for NPMA, and a past NPMA board member and chairman of the QualityPro program.
Heron was founded in 2002 by its current owners Rodney Lackey, Steve Okros and Joseph Patti. The company has grown rapidly in the last 12 years, ranking #50 on the recent PCT Top 100 list. In a press release, the company noted, “Not only is Greg one of the best executives in the history of the industry, but he also understands and embodies the hardcore committed, resilient character and winning culture that Heron represents. We truly believe that he has what it takes to take Heron Lawn and Pest Control to the next level of excellence.”
Clendenin has been married to his wife, Dottie Moody Clendenin, for 16 years and together they have four sons Jason, Aaron, George and Charlie.
