LA PLATA COUNTY, Colo. - The San Juan Basin Health Department is investigating the first probable case of hantavirus pulmonary syndrome in La Plata County since 1999.
A man from La Plata County contracted the virus, according to a news release issued Monday by the San Juan Basin Health Department. Joe Fowler, the health department's regional epidemiologist for Southwest Colorado, said he could not release further details about the case.
