DECATUR, Ala. — The Cook's Natural Science Museum has been chosen as one of the winners of the Rand McNally Best of the Road™ Editors' Picks for 2006.
Rand McNally editors combed through hundreds of scenic drives to come up with five trips that offer a variety of interesting roadside stops called "Best of the Road™".
Cook's Natural Science Museum appears, with 28 others, in the new 2006 Rand McNally Road Atlas. These roadside stops include restaurants, shops and attractions along routes in Colorado, Alabama, Tennessee, Minnesota, California, Ohio, West Virginia and Ontario, Canada.
Rand McNally made the following comments about the Cook’s Museum: "This small, privately-owned museum grew out of the large insect collection of a local pest control company. Originally displayed in a warehouse, the collection became so popular as a school field-trip destination that the company owner built a new home for it."
