DECATUR, Ala. — John Cook, Jr., Chairman of the Board of Directors for Cook’s Pest Control, announced the election of Joey Harris and Brian Cook to the board, effective Jan. 1., 2010.
Harris has been employed by Cook’s since June 1, 1988, and recently was promoted to chief operating officer. Cook began his employment with the company on June 1, 2008. He is a shareholder and currently serves as customer care manager.
“Both of these individuals play a key role in the future of Cook’s and will bring new and fresh ideas to the board,” said John Cook, Jr.
Other Cook’s board members include John Cook, Jr.; Lyn Cook; Jo Cook; Jim Aycock; and George White.

Cook’s also announced that Robert Humphreys is filling the newly created position of director of training. Along with leading the company’s overall training efforts, Humphreys will develop and monitor a management training program as Cook’s focuses on future leadership and success in the marketplace. Humphreys will continue to actively be involved in residential sales training conducted at Cook’s corporate office.
COO Joey Harris commented, “Robert’s experience and achievements at Cook’s, combined with a tremendous understanding of our industry, ensure that Robert will be a success in this new position. He’s done an outstanding job as our residential sales manager in Tennessee and will do an outstanding job leading our training efforts.”
