LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. — Cooper Pest Solutions was recently presented with the Heart Award from the New Jersey chapter of Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA-NJ) for outstanding community service.
“The Heart Award is a community service impact award that demonstrates the effectiveness of the community service provided by a company and their team members,” said Karen Martinez, BOMA-NJ awards committee chairperson. “The impact and creativeness of the community project(s) by helping others and not necessarily monetarily funded, rather the greatest good for the greatest cause decides the winning company. The award was created during our recent recession to promote the fundamentals of assisting others that are less fortunate.”
The award was founded in 2011 and since then, BOMA-NJ has recognized several property management firms for their effective community service with the Heart Award. Although it typically has been awarded to property management firms, this was the first year that an allied service partner received the award. The
Not only has Cooper Pest Solutions participated in various charitable activities throughout the year such as the Bike MS: City to Shore Ride, but the company also has sponsored more than 20 local sporting teams.
“Cooper Pest has exemplified leadership abilities and demonstrated consistent committee planning and event participation for many years,” Martinez said. “Cooper Pest has benefitted many local community organizations that support families and environmental stewardship. Their interests are unique and support worthy causes that not all organizations are aware of.”
Phil Cooper, CEO of Cooper Pest Solutions, was ecstatic when he found out that the Cooper organization had won the 2016 Heart Award.
“Winning the BOMA Heart Award is especially meaningful with over 30 years as an avid BOMA-NJ member,” Cooper said. “The Heart Award represents everything great about BOMA-NJ, we have always been a very giving organization and Cooper Pest is proud to live up to the high BOMA-NJ standards. I am honored for our company to be mentioned in the same breath as past award winners and I challenge all of the other BOMA-NJ members to keep on giving back to the community.”
Martinez added that BOMA-NJ was delighted to award Cooper Pest Solutions with the Heart Award this year for their dedicated community service.
“We are thrilled that Cooper Pest Solutions was the winner of this year’s Local BOMA-NJ Heart Award,” she said. “A much deserved award for a company that would like to make a difference in their community.”
