BOISE, Idaho – Phil Coulson, a 19-year industry veteran who owns and operates Custom Care Pest Services, Boise, Idaho, is the winner of a recent PCT Book Giveaway.
Coulson entered his name to win a copy of three books cited in the BizIQ
as suggested readings for PCOs. The three books are: “How the Might Fall” by Jim Collins; “Ultimate Question” by Fred Reichard; and “Clued In” by Lewis Carbone.
Coulson began his pest control career with Massey Services, then moved to Idaho in 1997. In April 2001, Coulson started Custom Care Pest Services, which has grown to now include four full-time employees and one part-time employee.
Custom Care offers general pest and termite services as well as non-trapping wildlife services such as bird and bat control. In addition to a large residential base, the company offers commercial services and has found a niche with small-to-medium sized facilities such as restaurants and office buildings.
Coulson attributes much of his success to his experiences with Massey Services. “I think we beat our competition because of our professionalism. I learned at Massey the value of putting forth a professional image, being organized and being quick to respond.”
What Coulson really enjoys about the profession is the variety. “I’ve been doing this job for 19 years and no days are the same.”
