CPCO of Georgia Holds Annual Fall Conference

The Georgia association held its annual event early October. Highlights included a presentation from Georgia Ag Commissioner Gary W. Black.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Certified Pest Control Operators Association of Georgia (CPCO of GA) had their annual Fall Conference Oct. 1-2, at the Edgar H. Wilson Convention Center in Macon, Ga., with Regal Nissan as the Presenting Sponsor.

CPCO of Georgia reported a so sold-out crowd for attendees and vendors. Due to social distancing guidelines, the numbers allowed this year were significantly impacted.

The 1 ½ day training, included 11 CEU hours with credits approved for GA and 8 other states.
Commissioner Gary W. Black kicked off the meeting as the keynote speaker with a talk entitled,

“GA Dept of Agriculture Updates.”

For the second year, the conference offered the Manager’s Advancement Program (MAP) track. MAP is designed for leaders and managers to participate in business training which includes speed-dating with participating vendors. Marty Jones, owner of Prestige Pest Control and current CPCO of GA Chairman, was announced as the Wayne Webber Award of Excellence recipient. This honor is given to someone that demonstrates a character of integrity and has made great contributions to the pest control industry and to the Association.

Over 150 attendees enjoyed the conference as well as over 25 representatives from the 22 vendors who showcased their products and services. Special thanks to those who sponsored this event. Understanding that not everyone could attend the “in-person” conference this year, the association offered a CPCO of GA Fall Conference webinar series from October 13-November 19. This has been a learning year that has grown everyone to adapt to the circumstances. CPCO of GA will continue to seek for creative ways to meet the needs of the industry.
