CPCO of Florida Releases Handbook of OSHA Programs for PCOs

CPCO of Florida has selected six of the OSHA programs most directly related to PCOs and assembled a workbook of 'turnkey' programs.

Most Pest Control Operators (PCOs) are aware of the state and local laws that pertain to the industry. Aside from EPA’s input into labels and the presence of MSDS forms, few realize there are federal regulations, which also can impact the industry. OSHA regulations apply to virtually every business enterprise in the nation, including pest control. OSHA requires written plans and training meetings in order to meet their standards. All pest control companies, even one person operations, must have a clear understanding of Right to Know, for example. Until now, most OSHA compliance publications were meant to cover all industries, and as a result are cumbersome and expensive.

CPCO has selected six of the OSHA programs most directly related to PCOs and assembled a workbook of “turnkey” programs. Each is presented in a step-by-step format and all written plans and documentation forms are presented in fill in the blanks format. The requirement for a Right to Know program has been in place for over twenty years, yet few PCOs have one in place. The fines for non-compliance with OSHA could easily bankrupt many pest control companies.

Each workbook comes with a duplicate set of the written plans and documentation forms, so the purchaser can easily make copies for their employees.

The retail price of the CPCO OSHA workbook is $34.95. CPCO of Florida members receive a special discount. Contact CPCO of Florida at 1-954-724-8806, 1-407-447-9700 or www.cpcoofflorida.org for details.
