HYDE PARK, N.Y. — Craig Thomas Pest Control recently became the first company in New York State to earn the QualityPro Schools designation from the National Pest Management Association.

The Hudson Valley-based pest management company has more than 50 years of experience in protecting health, homes and property against pests. As a QualityPro Schools company, Craig Thomas Pest Control has taken extraordinary steps to ensure that pest management techniques are executed in a carefully and environmentally responsible manner with the safety of children in mind. In addition to fulfilling the thorough and in-depth QualityPro requirements, Craig Thomas Pest Control has trained all of its school service technicians and salespeople on specific school Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques, exceeding state requirements.

To achieve the QualityPro Schools designation, a company must meet qualifications incorporating five key principles, including business operations, consumer relations, environmental stewardship, technician training and school-specific integrated pest management techniques. These qualifications include employing only highly trained, credentialed employees; offering a clear, easy-to-understand warranty and termite service agreement; maintaining a drug-free workplace; advertising truthfully and ethically; and maintaining an up-to-date insurance policy.
