Critter Control Expands Humane Wildlife Solutions

The company now offers CritterSafe exclusion, a no-catch and onsite release wildlife service that utilizes humane wildlife handling techniques.

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — Critter Control introduces CritterSafe, a humane alternative for residential and commercial property owners not satisfied with traditional options for property damaging wildlife.

Appreciating wildlife and the natural environment the two share is one of the first steps in resolving wildlife conflicts with humans. Tolerance and understanding solve many perceived “wildlife problems” borne from irrational fears. Bats and snakes, for example, are very beneficial to the environment – but they are often misunderstood, and rarely a danger to humans.

While there are times when the right thing to do is “let nature take care of itself,” sometimes wildlife conflicts must be resolved to prevent further damage to homes and property, and to protect human health and safety. Critter Control has introduced CritterSafe to offer an even more humane wildlife management option, using non-lethal, no-trap, release on-site, or one-way doors to minimize stress on our wild neighbors when the need arises to evict them. CritterSafe also includes the company’s exclusive home inspection and detection service, to identify potential wildlife entry points and prevent opportunistic animals from damaging homes or businesses in the future.
CritterSafe Services Include:

  • Species-specific removal techniques featuring one-way doors and excluders
  • Collection, safe harborage and reuniting of offspring with parents/siblings
  • The use of eco-friendly repellents and deterrent techniques to discourage return
  • Professional grade animal proofing: animal entry and exit holes, identify problem areas
  • Consumer awareness and education regarding follow-up procedures
  • Pre-construction Wildlife Land Clearing guidelines for the responsible management of wildlife affected by land clearing and habitat modification (via Critter Control's new Suggested Protocol for Land Clearing which can be viewed by going to: www.crittersafe.com ). Company founder and CEO Kevin Clark will be presenting the company’s Suggested Protocol for Land Clearing at The Wildlife Society’s 15th Annual Conference being held in Miami, Florida November 8-12.

While Critter Control says it was a ‘green company’ long before green became a buzz-word, CritterSafe techniques require special tools and training. For example, all technicians require special testing in order to become ‘Critter Safe’ and ‘Certified Wildlife Specialists’ before providing CritterSafe services. All exclusion materials and repairs are guaranteed against re-entry and optional annual warranty coverage is available. CritterSafe techniques are recommended by leading animal advocacy groups, the company says.
