MESA, Ariz. — Critter Getter Pest Control and Wildlife Services, Mesa, Ariz., is celebrating 20 years in business in 2018.
The Arizona firm was founded in 1998 by Susan and Chris Fitzgerald, a pest management professional who struck out on his own after the pest control firm he was working for was sold.
Initially, Critter Getter only offered pest control services, but as Chris Fitzgerald recalled, “With my hunting and outdoor back ground, [wildlife control services] seemed like a good fit, so with some additional knowledge and training we began to take on the bigger critters too.” The company currently offers general pest control, termite control and wildlife control services, specializing in the control raccoons, squirrels, skunks, snakes, coyotes, bobcats, pigeons and more.
Critter Getter has grown steadily throughout the years, currently employing four technicians, two office administrators plus Susan, who is the office manager. “The success of our company comes from the top-notch customer service we provide to our clients and the professionalism of our technicians,” Chris Fitzgerald said. “We get a lot of referrals from our clients who tell their friends, family and neighbors. We also get a lot of referrals from other pest control companies who don't do wildlife work.”
In reflecting on this 20-year milestone, Chris Fitzgerald recalled a conversation with his now-deceased WWII veteran grandfather told him. “He said, ‘Don't bite off more than you can chew Chris.’ I've always taken that advice to heart. He was very proud of our endeavor and efforts to build this company. I know he is looking down on us with a big smile and would be so proud of our 20-year accomplishment.”
Looking ahead, Fitzgerald said he would like to continue growing the company, fine-tuning systems and perhaps adding additional branches. The Fitzgeralds also are enjoying having Ashton, their only son, help out around the office when he is not playing baseball or involved with Boy Scouts.
