RALEIGH, NC —The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences will be buzzing with bug mysteries when CSI: Crime Scene Insects opens on Saturday, June 25. This opening also kicks off a new era for Bayer Environmental Science, the exhibit’s national sponsor, which opens its new Raleigh headquarters in the same month.

Bayer’s partnership with the exhibit, which features interactive case studies, live insects, and unique forensic visuals, helps to elevate the image of the professional pest management industry. Because many of the insects associated with forensic entomology are also common household pests, Bayer ES customized its “Pesty Pest Facts,” a series of panels packed with pest prevention tips that have been embedded into the exhibit. These panels provide a solutions-based component to the exhibit and remind homeowners about the importance of working with a pest management professional for the prevention and detection of pests.

The CSI opening in Raleigh also serves to introduce Bayer ES to its new neighbors in the Raleigh/Research Triangle Park area. PMPs will benefit from strengthened resources and more efficient operations once all three of Bayer’s business groups (BioScience, CropScience, and Environmental Science) consolidate facilities. In addition to closer ties with the Clayton Research and Technical Facility, Bayer ES will also have greater opportunity to tap into and collaborate on insect research with experts from Duke University, North Carolina State University, and the University of North Carolina.
