As various governments around the globe work to formulate a relief plan, Curtis Dyna-Fog, Ltd. and Aire-Mate, Inc. of Westfield, Ind., have stepped forward to take their own quick action in the relief effort.
According to company President Conrad McGinnis, Curtis Dyna-Fog has donated equipment consisting of thermal foggers, cold foggers and various disinfectants to Indonesian government health agencies.
The regional distributor receiving the shipment, PT Triman Sentosatama Company is handling the local delivery and coordination of the entire effort, which is being overseen by Dyna-Fog representative John Grant of Australia. “We do not want to be thought of as mercenaries at this time, but we must be realistic. Many additional real problems are just about to commence. Diseases, in particularly vector-borne (mosquito-transmitted) siseases will be a major problem in the whole region. The onset and spread of Malaria and other diseases are almost inevitable in this type of situation.”
Ironically, Dyna-Fog’s representative P.T. Triman was just at the southern tip of the Sumatera Island near the epicenter just a week before the Tsunami hit training his customers on techniques for applying disinfectants.
Curtis Dyna-Fog is not new to disaster relief. “We have more than 50 years of experience manufacturing spraying and fogging equipment and dealing with the aftermath of natural disasters. We can assist with containment of Vector Borne Diseases. Our people take great pride in manufacturing products that are used to help people and save lives. The contribution of equipment and installation is the least our company can do in this situation” states McGinnis.
Eagle Globe Logistics is donating the transportation of the equipment to Jakarta.
