DeltaDust Receives Food Label Approval in New York State

Bayer Environmental Science has announced that the company’s product, DeltaDust, received approval for its new food label in the state of New York.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Bayer Environmental Science has announced that the company’s product, DeltaDust®, received approval for its new food label in the state of New York.  This new formulation is the only waterproof dust on the market labeled for use in commercial food/feed handling establishments, according to Bayer.  Now, PMPs in every state can use the DeltaDust they have in stock according to the new EPA label directions as long as they have a new Specimen Label in their possession.

The label addition now allows PMPs in New York to treat both food and non-food areas in commercial food/feed handling establishments as a general surface, spot, or crack and crevice treatment.  DeltaDust’s new label allows for use in food handling areas in restaurants, bakeries, hospitals, nursing homes, cafeterias, supermarkets and zoos.

"PMPs in New York now have the ability to offer long term control and eliminate areas where cockroaches hide in food handling establishments by dusting wall voids," says Gordon Morrison, Maxforce Business Manager for Bayer Environmental Science.  "The dust easily penetrates deep into wall voids and provides great control because it is not absorbed into porous surfaces.  Additionally, because it is a waterproof dust, it's ideal for treating drains leading to sewers."

DeltDust, with DeltaGard® brand Deltamethrin, has an application rate of 1 lb. per 2,000 sq. ft. and is a low-dose insecticide, with an active ingredient concentration of just 0.05%.  DeltaDust has a residual of up to eight months and provides quick knockdown of cockroaches, ants, bedbugs, spiders, fruit flies and a variety of other pests. The product is available in ready-to-use 1 lb. and 5 lb. bottles, and is non-staining and odorless.
