RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Now available in a new formulation to provide pest management professionals (PMPs) with superior perimeter control, DeltaGard G insecticide from Bayer Environmental Science delivers the strength of DeltaGard brand deltamethrin in a new, water-dispersible carrier for effective, residual control of a wide variety of crawling pests, including ants, spiders, ticks and cockroaches.
“We are pleased to offer a new and improved formulation of DeltaGard G, making perimeter pest control and prevention easier and more cost-effective for PMPs. The active ingredient in DeltaGard G, deltamethrin, is a third generation pyrethroid in a single, pure isomer, which means PMPs can deliver maximum control at a lower application rate than the leading competition,” says Gordon Morrison, Maxforce® insecticides market manager for Bayer. “The carrier is less dusty and lighter in color than the previous formulation, helping the granules to blend better with most landscapes, while providing enough contrast for PMPs to monitor the treatment for even coverage and less waste.”
DeltaGard G’s small, dense particles are easy to spread with a hand-held or walk behind spreader and have virtually no dust or odor. The granules provide excellent penetration and coverage in thick ground cover, such as mulch or thatch, placing more of the insecticide where it is needed most. When exposed to moisture, the carrier quickly breaks apart, releasing the active ingredient without staining surfaces or damaging plants.
“The new DeltaGard G formulation has flexible use directions, allowing PMPs to apply as a broadcast treatment, perimeter treatment, spot treatment and on interior plantscapes,” says Morrison. Perimeter treatments with DeltaGard G’s low-dose granules require only two-to-three pounds of granule per 1,000 square feet when applied as a five-to-ten foot band around structures.
DeltaGard G’s cost-effective, low application rate protects up to 5,000 square feet with a single 10-pound bag. Its unique formulation is available in a resealable 20-pound plastic bag.
