GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) granted Syngenta Professional Products registration of Demand G granular insecticide, which offers pest management professionals an alternative to combat more than 24 insect species. This granular insecticide is on target for launch during the 2006 use season.

Syngenta is rounding out its portfolio of products with Demand G, the company’s first granular insecticide for use by professional pest companies. Demand G features the same active ingredient, lambda-cyhalothrin, as the Syngenta liquid treatment Demand® CS with iCAP™ technology. Demand G with Active Release technology™ features a unique formulation process that allows optimal release of the active ingredient off the granule.

This Active Release technology process of formulating coats and infuses the lambda-cyhalothrin into the cellulose carrier itself, so the ideal amount of insecticide is delivered in a regulated, reliable manner. The way Demand G is formulated also allows the active ingredient to diffuse differently off the granule, enabling the insecticide to cover a greater amount of surface and depth.

“Now the superior perimeter control PMPs have come to expect from Demand CS can be applied year-round, despite weather conditions,” said Karen Westcott marketing manager, General Pest and Rodent Control. “We developed Demand G at the request of PMPs who wanted to have access to lambda-cyhalothrin as a granular insecticide and we are delighted that the process of getting this product to our customers is now a reality.”
