LYNCHBURG, Va. – Dodson Pest Control has been honored as the ‘Outstanding Philanthropic Company’ of 2009 by the Virginia Piedmont Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). Company President and CEO Bert Dodson, Jr. accepted the award at the 2009 Philanthropy Day Awards dinner November 17 in Lynchburg, VA. Mr. Dodson said he was “very humbled and honored to receive the award.” On National Philanthropy Day (November 15) and throughout the month of November, AFP chapters honor exemplary local philanthropists, volunteer fundraisers, corporations, foundations, professional fundraisers and others for their outstanding work and contributions to the community.
The AFP was established to foster the development and growth of fundraising professionals and to promote high ethical standards in the fundraising profession. The group represents over 31,000 members in 200 chapters around the world. The Virginia Piedmont Chapter of the AFP has 40 members.
