LYNCHBURG, Va. — Bert Dodson Jr., owner of Dodson Pest Control, Lynchburg, Va., announced he is running for a newly created and open Virginia state Senate seat (22nd district). Dodson previously served for 12 years on the Lynchburg City Council.
“I am running because I strongly believe that we need more people with a business background in the State Senate,” Dodson said in a statement. “I am going to use my business experience to help create and maintain good jobs for all of our citizens.”
Dodson is running as a Democrat. The 22nd district includes Lynchburg and the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Buckingham, Cumberland, Fluvanna, Goochland and Prince Edward, along with part of Louisa County.
