Douglas Products recently hired Carlos Montejano as business development manager. With more than 17 years of industry experience, Montejano will be focused on serving the Southern California region, predominantly San Diego and Orange County, as well as Arizona and Nevada.

As an Entomological Society of America associate certified entomologist (ACE), Montejano has goals to become a board-certified entomologist (BCE). He is excited to join the team and looks forward to tackling different challenges every day.

“It’s never the same day twice. There is always something new going on, with new challenges,” Montejano said. “Regulatory wise, there is a need and a focus for stewardship — being a good resource to the applicators and industry overall.”

Eager to be back in the field, he strives to be a coach and manager who is always “there to offer suggestions and improvements” to help the team and clients, he said.

“We are proud to have Carlos join our Douglas Products team and serve the fumigators of the Western region,” said Heather Kern, commercial leader for Douglas Products. “His extensive experience in structural fumigation in Southern California paired with his fumigation experience in agriculture, Carlos brings a wealth of knowledge and value to the team.”

Montejano brings pest management experience as a distribution customer service representative, territory outside sales representative and western region sales manager. With expertise garnered in phosphine, fumigation and agriculture, he has worked with almond producers on the West Coast to peanut and pecan producers on the East Coast.

Montejano also brings extensive knowledge in structural fumigation in Southern California with him. Most recently, he served as a sales manager, supervising insect growth regulators and botanical products.

Personally, Montejano’s pride and joy is his family — being a father of three and a grandfather of one. A self-proclaimed “classic car guy,” who works on his Mustang he also loves the outdoors, fishing, attending concerts and traveling.
