Dow AgroSciences Urban Pest Management Business Adds New Field Scientist

INDIANAPOLIS — Dow AgroSciences recently named Neil Spomer, Ph.D., field scientist for the Urban Pest Management business, supporting research for its Urban Pest Management business, including the Sentricon System. 

In his new role, Spomer will manage the Urban pest Management Lab in Indianapolis and also cover parts of the Midwest and East Coast as field scientist for Sentricon. Previously, Spomer was a field scientist in Dow AgroSciences’ northern crops business in South Dakota. 

Spomer earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration/marketing from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He received a master’s degree in entomology and earned his doctorate in urban entomology both also from Nebraska. His doctorate research focused on termite baiting and the environmental fate of liquid termiticides. 

“I’ve always been fascinated by social insects like termites,” says Spomer. “Now I’m looking forward to doing research that will help solve a homeowner’s termite problem. When termites are attacking someone’s largest investment, their home, it is important to find a solution to their problem.”

Spomer will be based in Indianapolis.
