WFM was founded in 1986 by Bill Millspaugh, who has retired. The remaining coworkers will continue employment with Ehrlich. WFM has a reputation for specializing in pest control to commercial establishments, particularly large food processing facilities, in upstate central New York.
Ehrlich was founded in 1928 and currently offers residential and commercial pest control, termite control, bird control, vegetation management and bioremediation. The company is in its third generation of family management and ownership and is the largest privately held pest control firm in North America.
“We are honored that WFM, a company that has such an excellent reputation, particularly with sophisticated commercial customers, chose to merge their operations with JC Ehrlich,” said Victor Hammel, Ehrlich President and co-owner. “This gives us a wonderful foundation in upstate New York for our 42nd office.”
Millspaugh, former WFM owner, was equally enthusiastic about the acquisition. “We feel very excited about the merger between WFM and the JC Ehrlich Company. The quality of the Ehrlich organization was an important factor in our decision. It was about our coworkers and our customers and the continuance of the quality service that WFM was built upon.”
Prior to purchasing WFM, Ehrlich’s most recent acquisition was The Exterminators of York, Pennsylvania in June 2004.
