READING, Pa. — For the third consecutive year, Reading, Pa.-based Ehrlich Distribution was honored by the Defense Supply Center in Richmond, Va., as one of the government’s best suppliers. Ehrlich Sales Representative Carol Kitzmiller accepted the gold medal from the commander of the supply center, Navy Rear Admiral Mark Heinrich, at a recent ceremony.

Kitzmiller serves as Ehrlich Distribution’s government contractor with the U.S. military. The firm supplies pest control, herbicides and equipment to the Department of Defense and other government agencies.

Firms that qualify as medalists have met stringent quality and delivery requirements. A computerized system collects a vendor’s past performance data and translates it into a numeric score ranging from zero to 100. To be considered for the gold award requires a score of 100% accuracy.

On being selected, Kitzmiller said, “I felt honored to receive this award on behalf of Ehrlich Distribution. It is with a great pride in our company and country that I represent us, realizing we are helping to support our Servicemen and Servicewomen worldwide. During the ceremony, the top military brass personally greets and talks with, as well as personally expresses appreciation to the contractors that have gone the extra mile to make sure that whatever has to be done to perform at 100% is accomplished.”
