CARY, N.C. — Envu has partnered with PestVets, a group within the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), to support efforts to raise awareness of pest management as a career option for military veterans. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, PestVets also helps companies in the industry learn how to recruit and hire veterans.

“Veterans bring discipline, focus, and a mission-driven mindset — qualities that are well-suited to the pest management industry,” said Mark Schneid, head of commercial operations for Envu in North America. “Whether they join Envu or another company, veterans can play a key role in advancing public health and safety.”

The demand for pest management services continues to grow in the U.S. due to increasing urbanization and the spread of invasive species. The global pest control market is projected to reach $50 billion by 2034, with a compound annual growth rate of 5.4%. In the U.S., employment in the pest management industry is expected to grow 7% by 2033, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

To help meet that demand, PestVets connects transitioning military personnel and veterans with professionals in the field. The group also presents the David Cooksey PestVet of the Year Award to recognize a U.S. veteran for outstanding service to fellow veterans and the industry.

“My uncle was committed to both veterans and the pest control field,” said James Cooksey, Envu’s sales manager for south Florida and the Caribbean, and an active member of the National Guard. “I’m proud to see that legacy continue through partnerships like this one.”
