WASHINGTON, D.C. — Debbie Edwards, director for the Office of Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic Substances (OPP) at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, announced that after nearly 25 years with the agency she will be retiring. Edwards joined EPA in 1985 and will complete her tenure Jan. 14.
During her tenure at EPA, Edwards was involved in both the regulatory and science areas, including her service as director of the Registration Division and as associate director of both the Antimicrobials Division and Health Effects Division. Her leadership was instrumental to the Agency's success in meeting the ten-year FQPA deadline.
