ORLANDO, Fla. — First Choice Termite & Pest Control, through its involvement in the Apartment Association of Greater Orlando, was recognized for raising $8,500 that will benefit the Autism Society of Greater Orlando.

First Choice and the Apartment Association of Greater Orlando were recognized for this fundraising effort at halftime during the Orlando Predators Arena football game last week.

We are excited to have been a significant contributor to raise this much money especially for such a small, but growing local company,” said Jim Maurer, owner/operator of First Choice Termite & Pest Control, which is based in Winter Park, Fla.

First Choice employees sold 30 tickets to the game and received cash contributions from vendors, including Univar and its clients. First Choice matched all cash contributions. In addition to the cash contributions, half of all the Predator ticket sales went to the Autism Society of Orlando.

In addition, First Choice Termite & Pest Control recently provided its fourth free termite pretreatment of a home being built by the Habitat for Humanity in conjunction with St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs, Fla. This particular home was being rebuilt after a devastating fire destroyed the home and the owners had no insurance.
