Helping to Fuel the Dream

Fleetmatics is sponsoring the Turnaround Tour, a program following the journey of three lawn care businesses solving their greatest challenges of 2017 with the help of consultants Bill Arman and Ed Laflamme.

PCT’s sister publication, Lawn & Landscape, has partnered with The Harvest Group and sponsor Fleetmatics for the Turnaround Tour, a program following the journey of three lawn care businesses solving their greatest challenges of 2017 with the help of consultants Bill Arman and Ed Laflamme of the Harvest Group.

Launched in May 2016, the idea behind the Turnaround Tour was to help a trio of lawn care companies “get to the next level” by working hand-in-hand with Arman and Laflamme to create a better, more profitable and stronger company. Lawn & Landscape, along with Arman and Laflamme, reviewed the nearly 50 applicants and in November 2016 selected the following companies for business makeovers.
• Jeremy & Heather Dirksen, Freedom Lawn & Landscapes, Piedmont, Oklahoma
• William Gruccio, l Michael D’Orazio and Jordan Gartner, Vineland Landscaping, Vineland, New Jersey
• Ira and Deborah Wade, Wade’s Lawn Service, Goodlettsville, Tennessee

The three winning companies are receiving a year’s worth of consulting, including on-site visits, phone calls and a customized plan for operations, growth and profitability from the Harvest Group — a $25,000 value. The entire process is being chronicled by Lawn & Landscape throughout 2017 and an overview of the three companies and Turnaround Tour program can be found here

Pest control operators, many of whom also offer lawn care services, will enjoy learning how their fellow service providers are overcoming many of the same obstacles they face, and perhaps take away some business-building lessons.

As the Turnaround Tour sponsor, Fleetmatics is excited to be involved in this powerful and potentially transformational program. “We’re thrilled to ride along as Ed and Bill work with these small businesses to uncover their hidden potential and help them discover the tools and systems to get them from where they are to where they dream to be,” said Todd Ewing, Director of Product Marketing, Fleetmatics. “Most of all, we’re proud of these business owners for their willingness to share their stories. It takes real courage to ask for help and open your business to the gaze of others. But courage is how these businesses got started in the first place. Stories are powerful things, and those who are willing to share their stories have as much to gain as those who read and learn from those stories.”
