MAITLAND, Fla. — Massey Services was recognized recently by the director of FDEP’s Division of Water Resource Management, Janet Llewellyn, for its dedication to protecting Florida’s environment.

In a letter addressed to Massey Services President and COO Tony Massey, Llewellyn acknowledged the significant investment the company has made in staff training through enrollment in the Best Management Practices program sponsored by FDEP. More than 100 Massey service technicians and sales staff attended the training, including Tony Massey.

“We recognize that such an undertaking represents a significant investment of your company’s time and resources and we greatly value your dedication by committing your firm to this training,” Llewellyn stated in her letter. She went on to thank Massey Services for active participation in the agency’s Pesticide Environmental Stewardship Program over the past nine years.

Massey Services has been a pioneer in employing environmentally sensitive methodologies when providing pest management and landscape services. “Today, our industry is known as the pest management industry after nearly a century of being known as pest control,” said Tony Massey. “Consumers are clear in their preference for a ‘greener’ approach to what our pest management industry does, and we are proud to be an industry leader in providing environmentally responsible practices to customers.”

As the world’s population grows, especially in underdeveloped areas, and as basic and essential natural resources shrink, the pest management industry is being called upon to find better, more sustainable ways to accomplish its goals. Through its commitment to environmental stewardship and training, Massey Services sets the standard for ensuring the preservation of our environmental resources for years to come.
