ORLANDO, Fla. — Health officials in Seminole County, Fla., have issued a mosquito-borne illness advisory after a positive test for West Nile Virus in several chickens.
Recent rains and summer heat have made Florida, and other parts of the country, prime breeding grounds for mosquitoes, which can spread West Nile virus, dengue fever, encephalitis, canine heartworm and other diseases.
