FMC Launches New Transport Termiticide Insecticide

PHILADELPHIA — FMC Professional Solutions, a division of FMC Corporation, announced that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has federally approved non-repellant Transport® termiticide insecticide for use and sale in the United States. 

Transport is a new product offering for the pest control industry, providing control of all three genera of subterranean termites, including Reticulatermes, Heterotermes and Coptotermes, as well as control of ants.

Transport has been tested rigorously in field trials by university entomologists and approximately 40 pest management professionals (PMPs) in hundreds of termite-infested structures.  In these trials, Transport cleared termites from 94 percent of the structures within 30 days of treatment, FMC reports. “The field trials prove that Transport gives pest control professionals the ability to clear structures of termites within 30 days of treatment,” said Neal Rightley, product manager of pest control products for FMC Professional Solutions. “This uniquely formulated product has been proven very effective in the field under the toughest conditions, providing pest management professionals with a unique formulation for excellent control of termites.”  In addition, Transport provides long residual control.

Transport, a 50 percent wettable powder formulation packaged in 7.5 oz water-soluble packets, is a uniquely formulated, non-repellent product available for termite control.

Transport can be used for pre-construction termite control, post-construction termite control, above ground termite control (such as with termite carton nests or nests in trees) and as a foam application. 

In addition to superior termite control, multiple studies have shown that Transport also provides excellent control of many species of ants, including carpenter ants, according to FMC.
