WASHINGTON —A highlight of this week’s NPMA Legislative Day was the presentation of the annual FMC Legislative Day Award to Faye Golden, government affairs manager for Cook’s Pest Control, Decatur, Ala.

The award is presented annually to individuals who have distinguished themselves in the pest management industry through various activities – particularly legislative involvement -  and through their contributions to advancing the industry.

Zack Zaki, business director for FMC Global Specialty Solutions, presented the award to Golden. Zaki noted that in addition to her role at Cook’s, Golden has been an important contributor on the NPMA’s Public Policy Committee. She is an at-large director on the NPMA Board of Directors and is the Southern region director of the American Association of Pesticide Safety Educators.

Prior to joining Cook’s in 2013, Golden worked for 15 years in the pest management section at the Alabama Department of Agriculture. In accepting the award Golden said, “I want to thank all of you for supporting me. I’ve only been in the industry for five years, and you have really welcomed someone who used to be a regulator.”
