“New Transport Technology kills cockroaches through several methods of transfer, including coprophagy — feeding on feces — which today’s leading product does not. This extra edge gives pest control operators highly effective cockroach control,” says Dina Richman, Ph.D., product development manager for FMC. She says a unique mode of action and novel bait matrix make Transport effective against resistant and bait averse cockroach populations.
According to Richman, the superior formulation of Transport makes the new cockroach bait “irresistible” to cockroaches and keeps the bait palatable longer than current products.
“As a result, cockroaches ingest a sufficient quantity of acetamiprid to spread quickly throughout a cockroach population at lethal levels,” adds Richman. “Through Transport Technology, affected cockroaches then kill others as a result of saliva exchange, cannibalism, necrophagy (feeding on corpses), and coprophagy.
“Because of these features, this new product will help pest control operators simplify their inventory while securing high-performance control of cockroaches. So Transport will be welcome news to many pest control operators—especially those plagued with excessive call-backs in recent years,” says
Don Claus, director of Specialty Products for FMC. “This is the first in a line of high-performance Transport products, and a good example of how FMC is working hard to bring pest management professionals solutions to their greatest challenges.”
Transport cockroach bait, packaged in boxes of four one-ounce syringes, will be available soon through pest control product distributors.
