ORLANDO, Fla. - The Florida Pest Management Association’s Cockroach and Flea Symposium for pest management professionals (PMPs) is scheduled for Oct. 30 at the Polk County Extension Center in Bartow, Fla.
Roaches not taking the bait? There’s been a resurgence of these perpetual pests of hardy pre-historic ancestry. And pest management professionals itching to take down those exploding flea populations can get the jump on them.
PMPs will experience plenty of information and hands-on control demos from industry experts during the day-long program. Besides the serious business of managing these nasty critters, they can visit the cockroach races and cockroach tractor pull, see the exhibits, and enjoy a BBQ lunch.
PMPs are encouraged to “BYOC” (bring your own cockroach) for the Largest American Cockroach competition. (Specimens must be dead on arrival and must be an American species — no exotics.)
