FPMA Announces New Board Members

ORLANDO, Fla. – The 2005-06 slate of officers and directors for the Florida Pest Management Association (FPMA) was announced during the association’s recent convention, June 27-29, 2005, at Marriott’s Marco Island Resort, Marco Island, Fla. David Pomfret, Fahey Pest Management, Sarasota, Fla., who assumed the role as association president during a swearing-in ceremony at the Annual Banquet on June 29, leads the new FPMA Board. Commissioner Charles Bronson, Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, installed the new president by reading the oath of office.

In his acceptance speech, Pomfret emphasized the importance of getting involved and making a difference, saying: “Participate and you can make changes. If we work together as one voice we will be stronger, we will benefit, and we will be unified for the betterment of this industry.” Pomfret also announced his theme for the year: “FPMA: Re-Energize for Success— PMPs Working Together.”

Rounding out Pomfret’s team of officers are: President-Elect Jennifer Leggett, Lindsey Pest Control, Inc., Jacksonville; Vice President Mickey Nolen, Nozzle Nolen, Inc., W. Palm Beach; Treasurer Tim Hulett, Hulett Environmental Services, Inc., W. Palm Beach; Secretary Jim Williamson, Williamson Services, Palm Harbor; and Immediate Past President Rick Grimes, Bryan Pest Control, Ft. Walton Beach.

Newly elected state regional directors of the association are: Bruce Ferguson, Guarantee Floridian Pest Control, Miami; Greg Freebold, Gulf Stream Exterminating, Jupiter; Ray Williams, Florida Pest Control & Chemical Co., Winter Haven; Dale Velie, Slug-a-Bug, Inc., Melbourne; Haley Blocker, McCall Service, Inc., Jacksonville; Shawn Hyde, S.W.A.T. Pest Control, Panama City; Jimmy Miller, J.P. Miller & Sons, Deerfield Beach; Lee Sapp, Lee’s Termite & Pest Control, Inc., Sarasota; Brian Curtner, Five Star Pest Control, Port Richey; Tom Smiddy, Drive-Bye Exterminators, Clearwater; Earl Findley, McCall Services, Inc., Gainesville; Billy Riley, Bryan Pest Control, Inc., Niceville; Tom Durham, Orkin, Ft.
