BRANDON, Fla. — Although women make up more than 50 percent of the labor force, they are significantly underrepresented in the skilled trades, said Friendly Pest Solutions, Brandon, Fla. In fact, women comprise just six percent of pest control workers, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
To highlight women in pest management, Friendly Pest Solutions shared Isabel Ely's journey with the company. Starting in 2021 as a service technician, it became evident that Ely was hungry for knowledge and to learn how to solve customer pest issues as efficiently as possible.
Since then, she has jumped the ranks and holds a supervisor role where she oversees all technicians in our Brandon office. She has had a monumental impact in helping the company continue to grow by bringing a wide range of skills and customer service to every job she performs, the company said.
When asked what her favorite insect was, Ely said, “the ant. Ant colonies are a beautiful thing because they resemble how a perfect society should work”.
Ely is scheduled to take her GHP State Exam in January. From here, she will be on her way to managing one of our future office locations.
