Gardex Hosts First Annual Toy Drive

Customers, suppliers and staff donated toys, clothing, gift cards and cash to support a local shelter providing safe housing for women and children.

QUEBEC — Gardex recently hosted its first annual holiday toy drive to support women and children in need at a local shelter.

Karen Furgiuele, president of Gardex, began supporting a shelter serving women in need of a safe place to live earlier this year. Many of the women have children to care for, from newborns to teenagers. No one wants to see a child go without a present for the holidays, so Furgiuele decided to start a toy drive to help these families.

Dozens of pest control companies and suppliers contributed toys, clothing, gift cards and cash donations. Gardex made sure each woman living at the shelter received a gift card.

“The 2021 holiday season certainly brought out the spirit of giving and supporting each other in these difficult times,” said Furgiuele. “We are overjoyed at the support shown for the first annual toy drive.”

All toys collected at Gardex will be taken to the shelter the week before Christmas.
