MILWAUKEE — Liphatech’s Generation™ BlueMax rodenticide, a highly durable bait that provides maximum protection against crumbling, scatter, melt, and mold, is now available in Canada as a 454-gram paraffin block, giving pest management professionals (PMPs) a versatile and convenient solution for controlling large rodent populations.

The BlueMax 454-gram paraffin block addresseses the need for a rodenticide that holds up under extreme climatic conditions found in food warehousing environments, or humid and wet climatic conditions. Additionally, BlueMax has outstanding suppression of mold providing maximum bait , said Al Smith, Liphatech director of marketing and business development.

BlueMax, first introduced in the United States in 2005, offers a unique combination of features, which include:

  • Block strength: Food-grade grains are specifically formulated to ensure block durability and density for less bait crumbs and scatter.
  • Weatherability: Optimum paraffin content guards againstcrumbling and bait melt in humid, moist or hot environments.
  • Mold suppression: New preservatives deliver superior protection against mold.

The 454-gram paraffin block features four horizontal ports per bar for maximum securing options. Each block also features deep grooves to provide easy, clean product separation into smaller 56.75-gram bait pieces for use in AEGIS™-RP and other bait stations. The new BlueMax 454-gram paraffin blocks are sold in new sturdy, lightweight, easy-to-carry corrugated service containers. The container, which holds 10 blocks, is, designed to take up minimal space in virtually any service truck and, features a strong yet flexible strap handle. The 10 bar blocks are stored in a slide-lock plastic bag that can be re-sealed to keep unused bait fresh. When the service container is empty, the plastic liner can be disposed of and the corrugated service container recycled, making it an environmentally friendly package. On the job, a PMP can choose to divide a single 454-gram paraffin block into 227-gram, or four 113.5-gram pieces and so on to match the needs of the application,” Smith said. “Bait that isn’t used can be restored in the slide-lock plastic bag for future use so that nothing is wasted. The end result is a rodenticide and service container that are both flexible and durable, which in turn, saves PMPs and their customers time and money.” BlueMax also uses difethialone – the most advanced, single-feed active ingredient available.

Difethialone requires only half the rate (25 ppm) of other anticoagulant rodenticides. A lower rate of active ingredient makes BlueMax more palatable because it’s less detectable to rodents. The antidote for difethialone, which is the same antidote for any other anticoagulant rodenticide, is Vitamin K1.
