GIE Media Names Joe DiFranco Group Publisher, Manufacturing

GIE announces the addition of Joe DiFranco, who brings with him <EM>Today’s Medical Developments</EM> magazine, the first venture into manufacturing publications from the parent company of PCT.

CLEVELAND – GIE Media, a leading business-to-business publisher and parent company of the PCT Media Group, announced that Joe DiFranco has joined the company as Group Publisher, Manufacturing.

DiFranco brings with him the popular Today’s Medical Developments magazine as GIE Media expands its leading portfolio of B2B publications to include manufacturing publications. Bringing more than 30 years of publishing experience to the table, DiFranco will be a critical member of GIE Media’s executive team as the company continues its rapid growth and exceptional reputation as a leader in B2B publishing.

Difranco’s publishing experience most recently includes service as the Vice President of Penton Media where he was responsible for $75 million in revenue, including both print and trade shows. Under his leadership, Tooling & Production, American Machinist and Machine Design became the premier publication within their respective fields.

DiFranco graduated form Case Western Reserve University in 1968 and began working in the publishing industry immediately. His career includes working for several industrial trade magazines and publishing companies such as Chilton, International Thompson and most recently Penton Media.
