Glenn Burnett Scholarships Awarded in Georgia

The Georgia Pest Control Association announces that eight $1000 scholarships have been awarded to children of Georgia pest control professionals.

NORCROSS, Ga — The Georgia Pest Control Association announces that eight $1000 scholarships have been awarded to children of Georgia pest control professionals.

 

The Glenn Burnett Scholarship was established in the early 1980s and since 1985, more than $65,000 has been awarded to GPCA members’ children to support their attendance at a Georgia college or university. Named after Glenn Burnett who dedicated more than 20 years of service to the association, the scholarship program has continued to grow in participation and funding through the years.

 

Applicants must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, be children of a GPCA member in good standing and be enrolled full time in an accredited Georgia college.

 

Winners are:

 

Kimberly Brown

College: West Ga Technical college for 2 years and then to LaGrange College

Major: Nursing

Sponsoring company: Liberty Pest Control

 

Tara Sherman

College: University of Georgia

Major: Fashion Merchandising.

Sponsoring company: Arrow Exterminating

 

Devon Stawkoski

College: Georgia State

Major:  Journalism and a minor in Music Management. 

Sponsoring company: Northwest Exterminating

 

Carli Culpepper

College: University of Georgia

Major: Art Education

Sponsoring company: American Pest Control

 

Justin Cody Houseman

College: University of Georiga

Major: Biology or microbiology; ultimately aspire to either a Ph.D. in biology education or an M.D. in medicine, possibly at UGA.

Sponsoring company: Houseman Pest Control

 

 Leanna Davis

College: Georgia Highlands College and the University of Georgia after two years. 

Major: Early childhood education and minoring in dance.

Brianna Tattersall

Major: Psychology; Masters in Family and Marriage therapy.
